BACHELORS OF ARTS IN ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNICATION ARTS, WESTERN COLORADO UNIVERSITY
MY BIO
My name is Carlos Lerma, I was raised in Olathe, Colorado for most of my life. Then my family move to Gunnison, Colorado where I attended Western Colorado University. I began as a double major in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Film and Environment & Sustainability. I later dropped the film emphasis and explored different areas of studies from politics to creative writing.
I was fascinated by learning about different topics that expanded my creativity and provoked thoughts. Ultimately I decided that no matter what I ended up studying I wanted to be able to help others.
I got a job at the university doing events to increase student engagement on campus and it opened my eyes to world of event planning which I really enjoy. The summer before my senior year I got a job with a non- profit organization where my main job was to build a bridge between different communities within the Gunnison Valley. I was also in charge of a program called Backyard Harvest where I learned how to budget, market, and successfully reach my target audience.
Furthermore, I am a hard worker who doesn't give up easily and enjoys challenging himself. I hope to work in either events planning, advertising, public relations, non-profit, or maybe somehow be able to do it all.
